1/20/2024 0 Comments Lg g4 notification lightThis is driven home by the plastic pieces peeking out from behind the leather, making this less attractive than some of the non-plastic phones we've seen this year. The leather never really looks like part of the phone though-it's more like a case, or like the phone strapped on a leather driving glove. The back of the phone comes in leather or plastic. The back is plastic no matter what, with the leather option having the material glued on and an exposed plastic back side. The stitches down the middle are certainly unique, and are reminiscent of a leather car seat. ![]() It's a mixed bag, and whether you like it will depend heavily on what you think is the most important in a smartphone. LG also neglected to support Lollipop's always-on voice commands. As much as the removable battery will please those that need more battery life, there's no wireless charging or quick charging here unless you buy extra equipment. LG missed a few things from its checklist though. No matter which back you get, the sides of the phone are still plastic. You want a removable battery and MicroSD card? Double check. Nervous about Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810? Check-we've got the 808. You want a non-plastic back? Check-we've got leather. ![]() LG's newest flagship, the LG G4, almost feels like someone read a bunch of Android forums and wrote up a checklist of all the current hot-button issues. RGB notification LED, NFC, laser autofocus, color spectrum sensor, removable battery, MicroSD slot, IR blaster Sometimes heating up or overheats and switches off/restarts, but I guess its quite normal with new apps and new features through the years.Six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 (two 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 cores and four 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 cores)ĭual Band 802.11b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPSġ6MP rear camera with OSI, 8MP front camera Sometimes "freeze", but easy to reboot if nothing works with taking battery off. No rebooting problem, no other major problems. Cables working fine with other devices, but not with this one. Had 10 cables at least at home for "the charging problem". So had to buy or to have spare cable for charging all the time. The main problem I had was the battery life (even when I bought a new battery) and a problem with the jack maybe (after the phone slipped while on cord and after 1 year of using) - it was "killing" the cables after few months of using and wouldnt want to charge. ![]() Normal use - internet, social networks, browsing, GPS and maps. The only reason I switched to new phone (in 2020) was because it got old and slow and didnt work quite well with updated versions of the apps Im using. Never used the other panel (I think it was sort of a shiny pale pinky/white colour), and the grip of the leather panel is better than the other one. Didnt had a plastic or another cover case for most of the time, just for the last year+ of using, because the leather back panel got a little worn out. The leather back panel (black) is quite good too - really nice on touch and in hand. ![]() Broke the main camera glass (by falling ON a rock right onto the glass), replaced it twice (with non-original and original glass cover), but since then had the feeling the camera is not working really fine (making a little dimmed photos sometimes, maybe some sort of dust in the lenses or because of the glass, never went to a repair shop). Just a few scratches at the panel, but the screen is ok (always used it with silly screen protector - with the sticker from the box and replaced it once or twice). Loved the notification light on the main panel with different colours and patterns (so easy to see whats happening from a distance for different notifications).ĭurable and had experienced a lots of incident flights and falls and didnt broken. Loved the "double tap" feature for waking/sleeping the phone. Screen was ok too, nice colours and bright enough when you need it. Nice sound, but it could be better with loudness, the mic too - it could be a little bit more louder. Good in hand (It was "big" phone at the time, but easy getting used to it). The "manual" camera mode had a lots of options, too. Used this phone for couple of years (from August 2016 to December 2020, H815)Įxcellent camera! Really good one.
